Good morning fellow foodies.
It’s restaurant review time! Monday night I met my friend Emily at Silvertone in Boston for a little after work early bird dinner.

The restaurant is actually down in the basement and is on the small side, so I would definitely say get there early like we did unless you want to wait. By the time we finished our dinner, there was a line for a table. The restaurant is mostly booths with a small bar and the decor is funky and interesting. There are a lot of vintage accessories all over the diningroom, which I thought added a whimsical feel to the restaurant and I spent a good deal of time inspecting them during dinner.
Emily informed me that they make their own fruit infused vodka and though I did not order my own, I took a sip of hers and have to admit, even though I’m typically a tequila girl, the vodka was GOOD.
The menu has a little bit of something for everyone. Something that really impressed me was that most entrees come with a side of greens, which I think is unusual but very health-conscious. I love having a salad with my dinner without having to order it seperately.
I wasn’t all that hungry and didn’t want to go completely overboard for dinner, so I ordered just an appetizer and a salad. For my appetizer, I got the Goat Cheese Crostini.
Goat cheese is always amazing to me, however, the goat cheese could have been a little more melty and the bread a little less crusty because it was hard to chew the second it started to cool down.
For my entree I got the summer salad with goat cheese, pine nuts, and golden raisins.
The salad was really fantastic, and generously sized.
Warning to the ladies: I went to the ladies room after dinner and nearly scared myself half to death when I opened the door, thinking there was someone standing on the otherside when it was just a floor to ceiling mirror behind the door and was only my reflection. Cue the snarky jokes here…I was frightened by the sight of myself. Just a heads up in case you tend to pee yourself when you get scared.
For the fantastically low prices (Em and I ordered one alcoholic drink, one soda, two appetizers, and two entrees and the total came to only $37), intriguing decor and convenient location, I highly recommend Silvertone.

I love goat cheese. If you have a Houllihans near you, they have the bomb goat cheese bruschetta crustini, best I’ve ever had. (TWSS)
Any kind of smooth stinky cheese is a friend of mine. I can’t believe I didn’t try goat cheese til I was 25- what was I thinking?!?!
I always want to try making my own fruit infused vodka, but I doubt I could let is sit long enough without drinking it to make a difference.
Bummer about the goat cheese crostini. It looks fantastic though! I love finding great places like that where the food is great and the prices are reasonable!
I like Silvertone a lot. I’ve ordered mac and cheese both times I’ve been there.
I’ve been wanting to try Silvertone… there is always seems to be a serious wait though. I hear the mac & cheese is a good pick. Thanks for the review!
I always order goat cheese when I go out but I agree – it hassss to be melty!
I’m always a fan of the simple and low key bar and grill. I feel like there’s always something on the menu for everyone, ya know?
